Recruiters go to great lengths to learn as much as they can about a candidate during the interview process, but the truth is, it’s hard get a complete picture of an applicant’s background from the applicant.
This was the harsh reality nurse recruiter Theresa Mazzaro faced when asked to hire 50 highly qualified nursing residents within the first two months of her new role with Adventist HealthCare.
The good news was that Mazzaro had over 200 applicants to the program. The bad news was that some of the hospital’s HR systems were not very user-friendly for large applicant volumes.
Hear how Mazzaro successfully met her 60-day hiring goal by going beyond the interview with new processes to quickly move applicants through each hiring step using information provided by the people who know them best – former direct reports, managers and peers.
“You can interview people all day long, but if you don’t have feedback about their past behavior, you’re only getting 50 percent of the picture.”
