Physician Association Urges Trump to End Obamacare

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) is urging President-elect Donald J. Trump to not wait for Congress and immediately repeal Obamacare.

“The sooner Obamacare is repealed, the better,” according to AAPS.

“President-elect Trump would not want anyone to be forced to stay in a particular hotel, and Trump rightly opposes forcing Americans to purchase health insurance,” observes Jane M. Orient, M.D., executive director of AAPS. “He should end the individual mandate on the first day of his presidency.”

In addition, the statement calls for Trump to immediately put a stop to taxpayer-funded subsidies on the healthcare exchanges in order to enable free-market and charitable solutions.

“Obamacare is already so costly that most people might well be better off uninsured,” observes Dr. Orient. “Most of the care they need costs less than their deductible, and they don’t have the money because they spent it on premiums.”

What an irresponsible thing to say ” that most people might well be better off uninsured,” . So how would you suggest they pay for an emergency appendectomy, a fall resulting in a concussion and intracranial bleed, a baby who is born 2 months premature and needs hospital care until viable, or any number of any other possibilities that are unforeseen. The AAPS is a special interest group who stands to prosper from their proposal. It is not in the interest of patients or insurance customers.
